What happens at a massage

1

Settle in

Arrive 15 minutes early. We’ll show you to the locker room, the eucalyptus steam room and the tea lounge.

2

A short chat

Your therapist asks about pressure, problem areas and anything we should avoid, such as injuries or pregnancy.

3

Your massage

You undress to your comfort level and stay covered with a sheet, except for the area being worked on.

4

Slow return

Take your time getting up, then rest in the garden lounge with water and herbal tea for as long as you like.

Questions

Massage FAQ

How much should I undress?

Whatever feels comfortable. Most guests undress fully or keep their underwear on. You’re always draped with a sheet, and only the area being massaged is uncovered.

Can I ask for a male or female therapist?

Of course. Choose your therapist when you book online, or call us and we’ll match you.

Can I have a massage while pregnant?

Yes, from the second trimester, with our Prenatal Massage. It’s side-lying and fully supported. If your pregnancy is high-risk, please check with your doctor first.

Will I be sore afterward?

After deep tissue work you may feel a little tender for a day, like after a good workout. Drink plenty of water, and try a warm bath that evening.
