Skin care for Miami heat and humidity

Humidity sounds like good news for skin, and in some ways it is. But heat and sweat clog pores, the sun is strong all year, and going from 90 degrees outside to an air-conditioned office dries skin out. The result is often skin that feels oily and dehydrated at the same time.

Morning: cleanse, hydrate, protect

Use a gentle gel cleanser, then a lightweight serum with hyaluronic acid or niacinamide. Skip heavy creams in summer; a gel moisturizer is usually enough. Finish with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, every single day, even when it is cloudy.

Evening: clean slate

Sunscreen, sweat and city air build up over the day, so double cleanse at night: an oil or balm cleanser first, then your gel cleanser. Two or three nights a week, use a gentle exfoliant with lactic or salicylic acid instead of a scrub.

The habits that matter most

  • Reapply sunscreen every two hours outdoors, and after swimming.
  • Keep a hydrating mist at your desk for air-conditioned days.
  • Change your pillowcase twice a week in summer.
  • Never pick at breakouts; book a Clarifying Facial instead.

A facial every four to six weeks keeps pores clear and lets us adjust your routine with the seasons. Bring the products you use to your appointment, and we will tell you honestly what to keep.
